My son has been up since half past six this morning baking cakes for his school’s summer fayre. He has made biscuits, banana loaf, fruit cake and fresh bread so we all get some nice sandwiches whilst we are at the stand. All our plants are ready on the kitchen floor, we planted them a month ago so they would look nice today. The sun is shinning and I am so proud of both my son and my daugther. She is very artistic and does some fantastic drawings. Both of them are very sensitive children which is wonderful as their perception of the world is very much in terms of hues of colours rather than black and white but, like me, sometimes we struggle to know our own limits and get overtired. They are ten and eight and are incredibly capable of doing practical things. Their dad has taught them many DIY skills, I have taught them that anything is possible with good intentions and that we can all achieve things if we apply ourselves. I am so proud that they both have the confidence to do things for themselves and I am so looking forward to tasting these cakes. The limit is that there are no limits.
